WHY DE-STRESS?
If an individual starts to feel stressed and they can find ways of managing and handling this state it can prevent ill health both physically and mentally. People respond to stress in different ways and the techniques of handling and dealing with stress are varied. Recognising signs and symptoms is important so initial stress awareness training helps people to understand what stress is. However not every one wants to talk about stress when the pressure builds. The good news is that there are many techniques other than training. One- to- one sessions that work well are Reiki, Indian Head Massage, Emotional Freedom Technique, Relaxation and Meditation.
Monthly de-stressing sessions using the above techniques benefit both the individual and their place of work. The interventions mentioned can increase a feeling of well being and health within individuals. The Bristol and Whitehall studies showed that individuals who suffer stress at work can and do suffer physical and mental problems as a result of it. Helping to keep people balanced emotionally and physically can, and will, have benefits. An individual can appear calm and serene on the surface but underneath be ready to implode due to the stress and pressure they are experiencing.
